Sasaki

Sasaki-Designed Sunquiao Urban Agricultural District – Shanghai, China

Sasaki

Challenge:

Sasaki engaged Nickerson as the world-renowned design firm sought more significant media coverage and recognition than had been accomplished with previous agencies. Sasaki was interested in having its award-winning projects featured in prominent architecture and design publications, and also desired more significant thought leadership opportunities in both industry trade and business outlets.

Solution:

Nickerson’s team sought to develop a holistic understanding of Sasaki’s projects. We developed a variety of angles and garnered press across numerous of national and international publications, through coverage of the design perspective, community impactsand business implications of Sasaki’s projects. We also created messaging promoting Sasaki’s corporate culture and growth and positioned Sasaki’s team members as industry leaders in their respective fields.

Testimonial

testimonials quote pattern

Sometimes we see our projects from a perspective not seen by the rest of the world. Your perspective and strategic planning have created new ways of thinking about and promoting our work that connects Sasaki to larger movements in the world and media.

Examples

Akamai

Nickerson was tasked with collaborating with the Akamai team to develop messaging and promote Sasaki’s architecture and interior design efforts at Akamai’s global headquarters in Cambridge, MA. Sasaki sought to promote their “Aka-mile” design, and Nickerson identified opportunities in local business columns, international design press, and CRE/AEC industry trade publications.

Holly St. Clair joins Sasaki as CTO

While many agencies may simply distribute a new hire press release on the wire to check a box, Nickerson sought organic coverage for Sasaki’s announcement of its new CTO, Holly St. Clair. Nickerson secured a feature on St. Clair in the Boston Business Journal, working with technology reporter Lucy Maffei. From there, Nickerson parlayed the secured feature in local press to further promote St. Clair, garnering her national recognition as one of American City Business Journal’s 100 Influencers to Watch in 2020.

Xuhui Runway Park

Nickerson was able to capitalize upon our relationships with high-profile architecture and design publications to secure media coverage for Sasaki’s Xuhui Runway Park. Nickerson secured an exclusive with Metropolis Magazine that resulted in a four-page spread in a print edition, and the project will also be featured in Dezeen in early 2021.

Copley Square Boston

Sasaki sought Nickerson’s assistance in promoting a poll for community members in the City of Boston to weigh in on the future design of the famous Copley Square. Nickerson led media outreach and collaborated with the City of Boston to establish messaging. Utilizing our connections at the Boston Globe, we secured a front-page, above-the-fold feature promoting the project and poll for public comment.
