PANTONE’s Very Peri embraces “The Spirit of the Times.”
2020. It was a year of fear and unrest due to COVID, social disruption, economic uncertainty and political turmoil. Many of us made it through by the skin of our teeth, often deeply mourning the loss of those who did not.
If 2020 were the year of disruption and confusion, 2021 was the year of uneasy settling into our “new normal.” We dipped our collective toe in the water of our changed environment and slowly entered the new pool of existence. Perhaps conditions hadn’t improved as much as we would have liked, but at least the turbulent waters of 2020 seemed to have calmed a bit. We entered 2021 slowly, and gradually acclimated to our new reality.
As we open the door to 2022, we must forge ahead as a new generation of explorers, blending our digital existence with our physical reality and creating an entirely new age and era.
If a color can define our age, we love PANTONE’s recently announced and brand new Very Peri 2022 color of the year, and how it defines the spirit of our times. Also known as PANTONE 17-3938, the company describes it as “a symbol of the global zeitgeist of the moment and the transition we are going through.”

We couldn’t agree more. This dynamic palette that makes up this new hue combines calming blue, energized red and regal purple, symbolizing the stability we crave and the energy we must bring with an air of dignity and purpose. It brings to mind joy, purpose and possibility.

We’ve made it our mission to embrace this new world by intentionally stretching the limits of what we do; expanding our team and redefining our purpose.
